Project Conceptualization

Sketches for four potential projects

The first idea is a lighter concept. Often times when we feel sad or alone we hug things like plushies to feel less alone, but we are the ones often doing the hugging. In this case, the plushie would hug you back and emit a warmth or imitate another's touch.

The second idea is a mood ring and then the color of the mood ring is determined, displayed and then depending on your mood determined by the mood ring, the speaker will play a song according to the color that was determined.

The third idea plays more with the mechanical side of dealing with sensors on the box and the movement of the little creatures inside the box. However, the concept is, that even little creepy creatures need a little love and physical contact too.

The last idea is the heaviest idea of the four. It deals with how women have the right to say no whenever they choose to, even if they said yes in the beginning. The conversation of the female grows more concerned and unsure of her original request and eventually asks you to stop near the end, however, it is up to the viewer if they are able to reject that temptation and respect the doll's wishes.

PROJECT UPDATE

Changes to the project

Due to a recent global pandemic, these ideas are no longer plausible under the conditions in a remote setting where certain equipment and aid is not present or accessible. Therefore the project has completely shifted to a 5 minute film of abstract noises gathered from nature and the piano and guitar, with imagery of nature and environments in which I spend during this time of social distancing.
